BAMS Course Details
Bachelor of Ayurveda medicine (BAMS) is an undergraduate level course for ancient medical skill, it takes around 5 years and 6 months to cover the whole course of modern medicine and traditional Ayurveda. The candidate can apply for BAMS after completing 10+2 with science stream from any of the authorized board of India.
Basically, BAMS is the study of Ayurveda, it is the part of the medical study with the conventional technique of healing. It is the art of preventing and curing the human body with old traditional method with advance and modern science. The Fundamental concept of BAMS is stands upon the natural method of preserving human body. BAMS courses are only applicable at Ayurveda Medical Colleges from recognized universities. BAMS courses around the country is the same there are no changes in the syllabus and curriculum.

BAMS Duration & Curriculum
The whole BAMS course of 5years and 6 months is divided into three sections I Profession, II Profession and III Profession. The course is completed in just 4.5 years but additional 1 year should be taken for internship and it is a compulsory part for degree.
Profession I, II, III are called professional courses under Professional (1) Ayurvedic as Modern Anatomy, physiology, Ayurvedic Classic Text and sanskrit language will be taught . Profession (2) Ayurvedic Classic Text , Social and preventive Medicine , Ayurvedic Toxicology , pharmacology and pharmaceutics , Diagnostic and clinical methods.Profession(3) Ayurvedic as well as modern aspect of general medicine, gynecology and obstetrics ,general surgery, pediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology, Panchakarma, Ayurvedic Classic Texts. And one compulsory year for internship.
BAMS Admission Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit: Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 1st December of admission year.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects and obtained minimum 50% marks in physics, chemistry biology taken together. Candidates who belong to SC/ST/OBC must score minimum 40% marks in qualifying examination.
Admission Criteria:
- Candidates must be appeared in the entrance exam (NEET by NTA) conducted by Central Govt or State Govt.
