About Unani Medicine
BUMS stands for Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery, it is one of the forth popular branch of medical education .This under graduation course takes time period of 5 years. The term Unani means “Greek” as it teaches the Greek physicians knowledge of therapy. Unani medicine basically works on four elements i.e., Phlegm, Blood, Yellow bile and Black bile.
Unani System is not just like the Allopathy, in this system the medication is done through natural healing process. Unani system of medication has a history of 60,000 years backs and there is a great support of India and Chinese tradition to spread Unani system of medication around the world. Unani medicine system practiced in India in 11th century during the Mughal period.
Central council of Indian Medicine authorize all the Unani training Institutes in India it is a legal body that undertakes all the medical departments. Candidates who want to apply in Unani course can register them after completing their Intermediate.
Mostly Unani Medication is practice for the preventation of deadly diseases like kidney stone, diabetes, arthritis, weight loss heart problems and others. Successful graduate add prefix Dr. with the title and would be called as Doctor.

Eligibility criteria
Eligibility criteria that are strictly passed by the governing body AYUSH are mentioned below;
- The aspirants registering themselves for BUMS must have cleared their 10+2 with at least 50% marks with the subjects of Physic, Chemistry, Biology, and English from a recognized board.
- For reserved categories ST/SC /OBC their Intermediate marks should be 40% minimum.
- As per the guidelines of NTA student must have to clear the NEET entrance exam conducting on the National level and secure the valid merits for admission.
- Age limit is varying from college to college but it should be 17 years for NEET exam and as by the order of Supreme Court candidate of above 25 can also register for NEET.

Admission process will be happened on the basis of the rank obtained in entrance exam (NEET) by the candidate. After the declaration of NEET result, counselling process starts. BUMS course duration and details
Bachelor of Unani Medicine and surgery BUMS is a 5.6 years long professional course. Where 4 years and 6 months are for academic studies and 1 year is for compulsory internship. The course is being divided into four sections under that forth one is important for awarding degree.
In their academic session, the student was teach and trained under the supervision of experts of Unani in the campus. Only bookish language is not taught in the classrooms, they also provided by the grooming classes for how to treat in emergency time and diagnose disease of the patient.
The whole 5.6 years course is divided into four sections called as profession I, II, III, IV. In Profession (1) subjects like,Arabic and Mantiq wa Falsafa (Logic Philosophy and Astronomy),Basic Principles of Unani Medicine, Anatomy, physiology, In Profession (2)History of Medicine, Preventive and Community Medicine, limul advia and Pathology. In Profession (3) Communication Skills, Unani pharmacy, Medical Jurisprudence and Toxicology, Bed side clinic and principle of Management, Regional therapy and pediatrics. Profession (4) that is compulsory it contains General Medicine, molajat-II Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology, Surgery, and Diseases of Ear, Nose, and Throat.
